About our Ministry Role
Our role with 1Hope:
We’ll be responsible for 1Hope’s orphan care ministry. Heather’s primary responsibility will be the day-to-day oversight of Muphamuzi Baby Home. Donovan’s primary responsibility will be working with churches to encourage adoption amongst their people, and finding, equipping, and supporting forever families to take in the children in our care.
We will be responsible for overseeing interns and short-term mission teams.
Donovan will have responsibilities in Ministry Development for 1Hope. Much of this aspect of ministry is with 1Hope’s Mercy Network – coming alongside local churches desiring to develop gospel-centered mercy ministries and helping them equip, encourage, and resource their people to that end.
Through 1Hope, Donovan will also be involved with Living Hope Church’s evangelism and visitation ministry (including food pack distribution), and in equipping and encouraging Living Hope Church members in mercy ministry, especially in caring for one another.
Our role at Living Hope Church:
We won’t have a leadership role with Living Hope Church, but being actively involved in this church is an integral and inseparable part of our ministry in South Africa. We will seek to develop close-knit, one-anothering relationships in the church, and will look to help with discipling new believers. Beyond this informal life-on-life ministry we don’t yet know exactly how we’ll be involved in the church, but we’re excited to help in any ways we can.
