About Living Hope Church
We are blessed to be a part of Living Hope Church in inner-city Pretoria, South Africa. Donovan serves as one of the pastors of the church.
Living Hope Church was launched in August 2009. As of February 2017, the church has 59 members and Sunday attendance of a little over 150 people (including children). It is a wonderfully diverse church: made up of people from different countries (South Africa (of course :)), Zimbabwe, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Malawi, Zambia, Rwanda, Mexico, and the USA amongst them), different ethnicities, different cultures and 1st languages, and different economic brackets – something not often seen in South Africa. It’s very exciting!
These 4 words sum up the vision of Living Hope:
1. Glory: We are here to be stunned by the greatness of God and to worship Him.
2. Gospel: The gospel is the power of God for salvation and personal transformation and so we want to know and understand the gospel and challenge one another to live in ways that match the truths we profess.
3. Community: We were made and saved to have deep, biblical relationships with one another. We need these kinds of friendships because we are human and because they are one of the main ways God changes us.
4. Mission: Life is about way more than simply being as comfortable as possible. We are here for a purpose and that purpose is to make God look great through happy, sacrificial obedience to what He calls us to in His Word.
